Sydney is a student in the University of Essex’s MA program in the Theory and Practice of Human Rights. She began coding for the Societal Violence Scale in 2017, and for the Political Terror Scale in 2019. Her academic interests include insurgency, human rights measurement, and civil conflict. She received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of North Carolina Asheville in 2019.
